PhotoQ’s Book Club Unseen Session #1: Desiree Dolron – Xteriors 2001-2015
Friday September 22
10 – 12 am
During the Unseen festival the PhotoQ Bookshop offers two special sessions of PhotoQ’s Book Club, the workshop that focuses on one great photo book and its author. During the first hour the participants can freely discuss all aspects of the book, while the author is absent. After a short break the photographer joins the club and an in-depth and intimate exchange of ideas will open up.
On this Friday morning the participants will visit the studio of famous Dutch photographer Desiree Dolron, across the road of the festival site. Dolron’s work can be found in the collections of the Guggenheim Museum in New York, Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid, Gemeentemuseum Den Haag and others.
She published the book Xteriors 2001-2015 in January of this year coinciding with an exhibition of her work in the museum Singer Laren. Her book was designed by the renowned Irma Boom Office.
The workshop is moderated by bookshop owner Edie Peters and photographer Morad Bouchakour. We’ll begin at 10 o’clock sharp, and Desiree Dolron will join the talk from 11. For the sake of intimacy the maximum number of participants is 12.
Coffee, tea, juices, water, cookies and croissants will be available.
Afterwards the participants will be able to buy the book.
