Nicoló Degiorgis (curator): Prison Photography

35,00

Prison Photography is a collection of photographs taken between 2013 and 2017 by the inmates of the Bolzano-Bozen Penal Institution during a photography course given by Nicolò Degiorgis for the Alfa Beta Piccadilly cooperative. The limits naturally set on photography by an isolated location such as a prison is the key point around which the entire course was based. Divided into various chapters dedicated to different photographic techniques, the book encourages the reader to reflect on two things: the role of photography itself and the attempt to escape from the monotony of prison life.
